Remember you are bonded labor if you are on H1B or Work Permit. They will use you & your illegal brothers every election year and this is one of those years ..... everything is chatter until something heppens.

Don't get your hopes high.... just get your head down and work for them.

I think it is like this, if you apply before hand like 6 month before your Visa expiring date your chances of getting an RFE for client letter is minimal, provided you stick to the same employer and all necessary documents like paystubs, tax pay reciept etc, is submitted.

If you apply for Premium Processing, SURE HIT you will get RFE for the END client contract copy...

I have got only for an year extension last Sept 2009 --[total 10 years in US--changed my H1B company on 2003] -applied on Premium processing,--I-140 approved Jun 2005, missed the July 2007 fiasco... I am planning to apply on ordinary on April 2010 again.

So Key is do not go for Premium Processing if you could, apply 6 months before your H1B visa expires, inform the end client and vendor that you need a contract copy send it to USCIS if there is an RFE, if they cannot give you the copy for business reasons. Be Ready to reply the RFE.

Good Luck to all, and I wish all of us to be on EAD, before this 2010 year end.

It is not very clear if the new employer needs to explicitly state that they would like to continue your GC. I understand that a major chunk of employers will have reservation stating this in an offer letter.

My understanding is that to invoke AC21, employer needs to provide an offer letter for a full time position. Please clarify.

My immigration status is H1 (485 pending EB2/INDIA). I am on the verge of completing my 2 year Masters in Computer Information Systems (MS-CIS) from Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri. Its a distance education Masters program with one week of on-campus residency every semester. The program is geared towards working IT professionals and its accredited by AACSB. The VFS website is good for FAQ. Also, their email reply service is appreciable as I had my doubts cleared in 24 hrs cycle. You can also call them, they DO answer. The dates keeps changing because, I think, of cancellations and other eventualities. Usually, people make appointments anticipating , and keep changing it as their schedules change. You can reuse your payment id for 1 year and hence one could make appointment for a date, KEEP LOOKING, and if you find another suitable, then cancel and reschedule right away. I believe the calendar is live or almost live. They do allow emergency appointments but I am not clear wehther you could do it from here or you need to be present there. Typically, if you have a good travel agent/company, they can handle it better in your favor.

As per http://www.murthyindia.com/content/em_appt.html if you're working in the US and are returning back to work, you can qualify for emergency quota. Is this a viable option? My travel dates in Aug / Sep / Oct are not confirmed yet and so I am planning to take an emergency appointment only.

Once you received your EAD card, you can apply for SSN.

Ok, sadly there is no option in Illustrator 9. At least nothing convenient like when you go to save. I've tried searching in the preferences for anything that would let me save it as a PDF compatible, but no luck. Guess it finally time to upgrade. :emb:

On the bright side there is a lot of good info on sunnypixels about what happens with gradients, strokes, etc. when you import them into Blend.

i don't normally go for tricked-up stuff, but this one kind of hooked me. I did the "Ansel Adams" conversion to B&W which gave me a contrasty and "antique' look. Then I merged it with the original at about 45%.

This gave the shot a very surreal look.
