Actually, I don't have any idea on this but I just want to ask if I can leave & go back to the US with just my H4 visa? Cause I'm still waiting for my green card cause it's still in process.
My parents are here in the US and the reason why I want to go back to my country is because I want to continue my studies there.
Another question is:
If I go back in my country with just the H4, what if while I'm in my country and my green card is sent in my parents (in US), Can they just send the green card to me and use it if I go back to US?
PLEASE HELP ME.

Isn't there a state which needs a valid visa stamp in order to issue a driver's license? You need to be able to drive to work, therefore visa stamping travel and expenses can be justified as work related expenses if you happen to work in that state.
On a related note, there may be a profitable business somewhere in offering tax penalty and audit "insurance" for deductions ;). Pay a premium to the insurer to cover the value of your deductions and the insurer will pay up in case the IRS disallows the deductions.

I don't get what caused the sudden spike in the Master's quota. Earlier it used to be open for at least 15 days... Can it be because of increase in number of international students or people loosing in previous year lotteries going for Masters??? I seriously believe that H1B visa program needs reform - a valid job offer (read project for consultancies) must be necessary for applying AND a joining date within 2 months of starting FY. This is true madness going on.

I wouldappreciate if any of you could shed light on the following scenario:
If485 i spending for over six months and someone switched the job using AC21 for a position which would require extended stay [upto 2-3 years] outside the US. Would it any way impact the GC process? Given that priority date is 2007, it is unlikely(?) that 485 would be adjusted in that time.

Yes, you can, but must not get paid. the work must be volunteer work only. My wife was involved in cardiology research for 3 months while on h4. She was not paid - she was just a volunteer.
I would recommend - not to get into unpaid work stuff. This is from personal experience. My wife was unpaid volunteer at Emory Cardiology research , and was being exploited - they found her to be good at work and started dumping all work to her - she was completing charts of paid employees and was working like hell because they set deadlines for her. We were furious and I pulled her out.
When she requested that they give her a recommendation letter for all the work she did - they were reluctant to do it and started yelling at her and were extremely rude so that she wont ask again - they bullied her into signing a document that would strip her name off all publications. Finally after a lot of persistence and insisting, they gave a letter of recommendation.
The reason I write this stuff is - to warn you all - do not get into this kind of stuff. The world is very exploitative and we cannot trust workplaces or people around us.
Use time on H4 for some good stuff - volunteer for IV or there are so many things you can do.

Interesting thread. For all those who've gotten their hands dirty in the stock market, can you recommend any message boards that conducts healthy discussions for taking advantage of the volatility in the short term. I got my LC two days ago apply 245i 05-26-01.On my LC it says B2 does this mean EB2 and whats my current status can I apply for 485i please advise me thakyou all.
If u applied under 245(I) I would highly doubt it would be EB2. I don't think the B2 implies any of the employment based category. Read your LC application and it will talk about sections like "Sec.203(b)(2)" etc. That should tell u which category you belong to.

My friend got into this situation.
He had EB2 Labor approved with PD 08/2005 and I140 approved.. He is in final six months of his H1.
Now, interestingly his EB3 labor from Previous employer was just approved. However, he is no more working with them. But could convince them to file I140 for the apprvoed EB3 (which is PD 09/2003). and would like to Port the PD to his current EB2 with his present employer.
Did any oone of you experienced this and if so, can you please share your experience..

Even i reviewed the list of NOC on their site but I don't see any chages. But i could see one thing on that pdf list is the date still says February 5, 2009. So it;s not updated as per April 15,2009 if they revised the list.
So need to find out wether they revised the list of NOC or not..
any one knows???

What was your previous status (before 1st oct). If you still have valid visa for say H-4, just go out of country and come back using your previous valid visa. On your return you will get a new I-94 with H-4 status. Then you can apply for H-4 to H-1 transfer (you won't need any paystubs) and you will not be subjec to H1 quota either.
Ofcourse, I am assuming your previous status was H-4. If it was F-1 or something else, I don't know if you have valid permit to return to that status.

The first one is definitely my fav, the only critique I have is it looks like the polarizer needed rotated so the darkened portion of sky would been horizontal instead angled.
