Hello
My story is:
I've been on J2 for a while, it expires in May 2011. I have a EAD and currentlt I'm working for a company as a professional.I have a 5 years of Bs degree.
Questions are:
1. Can my employer apply for a Perm Cert for me if they want.
2. After getting the perm cert. can my employer file I 140 under EB3 for me?
3. Will I be eligible for premium processing for I 140 application, in 15 days?
4. Lets say all the above steps are accomplished and I got approved for I 140, all happened prior to May 2011 (this is the actual date my J visa and EAD expires).
a. Then I'll still be working with my current EAD, right?
b. Then what happens after May 2011?
c. DO I need to wait to file I 485 or can I file it right after my I 140 approved?
d. how can I legally work in the USA after my EAD from J visa expires, but if I have approved I 140.

I am happy to inform all of you in NORCAL that the permit to conduct a signature/letter campaign at Fremont BART is with us!!!
NOTE: This cannot be used by another member at another station-- this is a non-transferrable permit SOLELY for the campaign at Fremont at the said times, but you can request a similar permit for any BART station!
Now, I need at least ONE other member to be there on a weekday evening of your choice (I am planning to go there EVERY weekday evening for 2 weeks) and help me conduct this campaign!

I understand your frustation since you might be one in the queue waiting for so long for GC, that dosnt mean that you are brave and other person not able to make a decision is chicken. Please respect each other and thats what we all do...
Please try to answer his questions since he is struggling to take a decision, if not please ignore and move on buddy...
SSH1... I think as other experts say in lot of other threads , there is no absolute law that you need to stay with the employer after getting GC.
You should be fine since everyone in this world can understand that this is a downstream period and lot of layoffs are happening..with that being the situation you should not worry now... stick where u get job and can survive.... Good Luck...

Please don't give wrong information so authoritatively :)
Labor Certification(LC) for Green Card processing has nothing to with Labor Condition Agreement(LCA) attached to H1-B.
If you moved to a different state from intended work place when your employer filed H1-B (extension included), your company need to get a new LCA.
Do not confuse between (Permanent) Labor Certification from Labor Condition Agreement, simply because of the abbreviations(LC vs LCA).

and so are 26 other consultants in her department. All of them are being replaced by permanent employees by client from other departments.. Basically, tough times like these., consultants are the first to be kicked out. I am awaiting my turn :(

Receipts usually sends to Attorney, who represent your case, if you signed G-28 form. You only get Notice for FP, Original EAD, AP. So don't worry abt the receipt. It should be with your attroney.
What if the lawyer does not have the receipt notice either? Will I need a copy of the receipt notice or original when applying for EAD/ AP renewal? or can I use any other supporting documents?

Go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp and register as a customer from the left panel. Once you register you can enter your receipt numbers and track your case. If there is a case status update they will send you an email.

Some clarifications needed here !
1.) Data entry is not done by adjudication officers (AO)
2.) Unless an AO is trained in a particular "production line"
(I-485, I-765 etc.) they cannot move them around
3.) Bear in mind AO's have the option to and do work from home too.
4.) The adjudication rate per past service center reports is
around 2 or3 cases per hour for I-485
The assumptions here are all the 50 guys are working only on EB cases no family and other cases, they are not doing any other data entry job like putting 450/ead/ap applications into system, they are not approving any of ead/ap cases. And they are working 8 hours daily. Looking at the general work environment around i bet the productive hrs in 8 hr work day is around 5/6 hrs. So keeping in mind these factors i feel the 80000 is okay number. They certainly need more staff. My 2 cents.

You may port the PD as well as get 3 yrs extension based on previously approved I-140 regardless of employer as long as I-140 is not revoked.

The employment-based immigrant community and the businesses and academic institutions had some level of hope and expectation that this bill might be acted upon as separate from the CIR. However, there is a report that Senator Hagel stated that the Senator introduced the bill intended to be handled as part of the CIR legislation process. It thus appears that all the bills which have been introduced recently were also intended by the bill sponsors to be debated and reflected in the CIR legislation process in May in the form of amendments. There we go. The Senator yesterday introduced S.1225 for the illegal immigration reform part of his own comprehensive immigration reform scheme under the name of Immigrant Accountability Act of 2007. Probably more immigration reforms bills may be introduced by other legislators before and during the Comprehensive Immigration Reform debate in the Senate next month. It is my turn to receive the "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident" today. My depenedents are yet to receive this mail. This forum, Immigration-law, Immigration portal by Rajiv Khanna and many other immigration lawyers' websites like Murthy's etc were very useful to understand the immigration laws.
I did everything myself (EB2-NIW - India) - I140, I485, AP and EAD and my PD (I140 RD) and I485 RD are 08-30-2005.
I did make a one time conribution of $100.00 to IV.

Which service center did you applied to. I have similar PD (8/22/05) and EB2 NIW at TSC.
